Orange Juice with Breakfast.
Starbucks on your break.
Sweetened Ice Tea with Lunch.
Beer with Dinner.
If you’re someone who is trying to lose some weight, what you’re drinking on a daily basis may cause you problems with reaching your goals.
- 1 bottle of Pepsi is 250 calories.
- 1 bottle of Gatorade is 130 calories.
- 1 Cup or Orange Juice is 110
- 1 Cup of Whole Milk is 140
- 1 Beer is 150
- 1 Margarita is 200-250
- 1 Dunkin Donuts Coolata is 400
- 1 Starbucks Frappachino is 410
- 8oz of Wine is 200 calories
As you see, those calories really start to add up throughout the day. Having a couple of these everyday can lead to an added 4-5-600 calories a day. This is especially important if you’re looking to drop some pounds.
We talked about counting calories for weight loss HERE
Starting point for weight loss HERE
The basic equation is 1 pound equals about 3500 calories. Divide by 7 days, and that equals 500 calories a day. 500 calories that you could be wasting by drinking unnecessary beverages.
You could be losing weight right now! All you would have to do is cut out those 2 sodas you have a day. Or pass on the Frappachino every morning.
That’s it! We’re not even talking about your actual food. Or getting in more exercise. Replacing your drink choices can lead to major changes in your weight loss journey.
Now, what to replace it with?
How about….. WATER! All 0 calories of it!
Or coffee! About 1 calorie. Find a low calorie creamer (some are 20 calories a serving) and you’re good. Almond milk is only 30 calories, with sweetened being only about 60 calories.
Instead of orange juice, get an actual orange (45-80 calories). Same goes with apples vs apple juice. Always go fo the food versus the juice. More vitamins, minerals, fiber…
Choosing a non fat or 1% milk can save you a bunch of calories.
And, with Gatorade….
YOU DON’T NEED IT.
Seriously. Unless you are working out for hours (HOURS!) at a time, skip the gatorade. Drink some water. Add a squeeze of lemon to it. And you’ll be fine.
The start of you losing weight can be as simple as changing what you drink everyday. Make smart choices.
I will never say you can’t have something you like and enjoy. If you want a margarita, you can fit it in your diet, you just have to be smart about it.
Be smart. Be accountable to yourself. Make better choices.
