5 Things To Do To Guarantee Yourself Results

If we’re talking health and fitness (which, we always are lol), I believe doing these 5 things and building up these 5 habits will lead to guaranteed results with any and all of your health and fitness goals. And really, I think these have transferability to other areas of your life too…

You can listen to the same subject on episode 25 of the 1LIFE1YOU Podcast

How To Guarantee Yourself Results

1. Eat Healthy (+ Track Your Food)

We talked about both these subjects in past posts:

But, to quickly go over them again, the goal is to eat health (Whole foods, no large ingredients list. 3 meals a day. Mostly plants).

And, once that habit is built, then you can start to focus on tracking your food. My best tip is to use one of the many food tracking apps (Like Myfitnesspal, LoseIt, or Fitbit).

Get your calorie range for your goal, and stick to it. Consistency is a major factor there. And being honest with your tracking.

2. Workout

The goal should be 5x a week (6 would be great). Not just working out to work out, but, with focus, with purpose, and with intensity.

I’m not talking about sitting on a stationary bike for 20 minutes will reading a magazine…

Put the phone down, give yourself 20-40 minutes, and make it the best time of your day!

The style and type of exercise doesn’t matter as much as just moving your body.

3. Sleep & Recovery

We’ve also talked about the benefits of getting enough sleep.

Read The Benefits Of Sleep HERE

There’s sooo many benefits, I think it’s really crazy we don’t focus on it more. Its really among the last things a lot of people think about with their weight loss, but it should be the 1st!

A quick example of someone I worked with: she stalled on her weight loss for a while, I had her focus on getting a minimum of 7.5 hours sleep (when she was at 6 hours), and over the next 2-3 weeks, she lost about 7 pounds. We did nothing else differently.

If you’re not getting enough sleep, you’re actually doing harm to your body. It’s too big of a deal not to focus on it.

4. Positive Mindset

I think this is the hardest habit on the list to build. It takes the most work, but once you have it, nothing is impossible.

The quote, “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right” is a great quote because of how right it is. How you go into the task of accomplishing your goals is a BIG factor in if you will actually reach them.

If you want to lose 50 pounds, but you’re negative about it, and believe you can’t… you already failed.

Belief goes a long way. Being positive goes a long way. The body goes where the mind goes. Keeping the positive mentality will push you to not stop until every one of your goals are reached.

5. Enjoy Life

Strong relationships. Being surrounded by people with good energy and growth mindsets. Finding work you enjoy doing. Hobbies that bring you joy. Exercise that makes you want to get better. Healthy foods that you enjoy.

All of that is about enjoying life.

There’s studies that show have strong, meaningful relationships helps you live longer.

If you have negative people in your life (social media or real), it’s time to find new people.

The saying is, you’re most like the 5 people you’re around the most. Think about that. Take a second and take inventory of your life….

Remember, you have no obligation to be around ANYONE. It’s your life. Being selfish with your life, time, and energy is not a bad thing.

Those are the 5 things to work on to guarantee yourself results in health and fitness (and life!).
