5 Healthy(ish) Snacks From Walmart Under 500 Calories

We’ve done a few other posts like this one (Target pt 1 & Aldi’s & Target Pt2) was well received, so I decided to take a trip to WALMART and find five more healthy(ish) snacks under 500 calories.

The goal is to (1) find easy snacks under 500 calories per serving, and (2) make sure they are healthy (ish). That part is my own judgement call 😉

HEY

1. ONE Protein Bar – 230 Calories per Bar

2. SILK Dairy Free Yogurt – 140 Calories per Cup

Processing…
Success! You're on the list.

3. BLUE DIAMOND Chocolate Covered Oven Roasted Almonds – 160 Calories per Serving

*Walmart had the large, almost 2lbs, back

4. GREAT VALUE Omega 3 Trail Mix – 240 Calories per Pouch

5. CLIF BAR – 260 Calories per Bar

*Walmart had the jumbo variety pack

Where should I go next?????

1. Quest Hero Chocolate Peanuts Butter Bar: 200 Calories

2. Justin’s Cinnamon Almond Butter: 200 Calories per pack

Processing…
Success! You're on the list.

3. Kind Probiotics Bar: 230 Calories for 2 bars

4. Blue Diamond Honey Roasted Almonds: 160 Calories per serving

5. Core Power Protein Shake: 170 Calories per bottle

How’d I do for part 2??

Where shall I go next? Back to Aldi’s? Walmart? Wegmans? CVS???

BugOut Bar Cricket Protein Bar Review

A little while ago, I got a DM on Instagram from BugOutBar, asking if I wanted to try out their product.

Full Video Review

A quick check of the page, and, sure. Why not?

And about a week or so later, I get a box of 12 protein bars.

My wife then asked the question, “are these made from bugs???”

Me: “No…. no… ummmm….”

And, YES! They are made from Cricket Protein. I guess I should have done more research into the bars lol!!

But, since they were here, I tried them.

Before the review, a quick breakdown of the calories and macros:

270 Calories

16g Fat

23g Carbs

15g Protein

Review

Passed the smell test. Chocolate brownie is exactly what it smells like.

Taste test: It was actually good. While it had the, expected, slight chalky-ness of a protein bar, it still had the flavor of a chocolate brownie (and not a cricket!).

Overall, I give it a 9/10 for protein bars. Especially with it being all natural!
